The Woolpack

With great food and hand-pulled ales, there’ll always be a warm welcome at The Woolpack pub in Esholt, as featured on Emmerdale. It was used both inside and outside to film Ashley's emotional episode as his dementia worsened. It was also featured on Emmerdale 1918.

Welcome to The Woolpack

You will be assured of a warm and friendly welcome when you visit the Woolpack.

This lovely traditional country pub has to be the most famous ‘working’ pub in the country, as it is the original Emmerdale Woolpack and the only ‘soap’ pub where you can actually get a drink.

It has a well-stocked bar and fine cask ales, and a tasty menu with plenty of choices for all appetites and budgets.

The outside of the building provides a great photo opportunity and the inside is adorned with pictures of cast members, both present and past, providing a real trip down memory lane.

The exterior and interior were also used to film Ashley's emotional episode when he was suffering from dementia, which was broadcast on 20th December. It won the 'best single episode' in the Soap Awards (click on link to watch how it was made).

The village of Esholt is also extremely picturesque and there is nothing better than to sit at the front of the pub on a nice day with a drink and soak up the atmosphere.

We look forward to welcoming you soon.
